Master of Wood!
1922
Our journey began in 1922 when our grandfather İsmail Sönmez started working as an apprentice in a carpentry workshop in Istanbul. Our grandfather, who became a master by combining the magical beauty of wood with the dexterity of his hands, worked as a master in various joinery and carpenter workshops in Istanbul and Ankara until 1945.
1945
As her longing for her hometown became more severe, she returned to Kayseri in 1945. Together with her partners, she opened the first mechanized woodworking workshop in Kayseri, the Emniyet Joinery Workshop.
1953
Emniyet Doğrama quickly became one of the preferred joinery workshops in the region with the products it produced without compromising on quality and aesthetics. In 1953, he opened the Akalın Joinery Workshop with his new partners. It continued its steady growth. After becoming a master in business life after carpentry, he decided to chart his own path.
1986
In 1986, it moved to Doğu Sanayi to meet the high demand. It started furniture production in 1992. In 1996, in line with its future growth targets, it took the title of SÖNMEZ WOOD AND METAL CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS IND. TRADE LTD. ŞTİ. It continued to grow rapidly in Doğu Sanayi until 2002. In 2002, it moved to Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone and continued to grow by increasing its production.
2007
In 2007, in order to have full control over the production processes and to have an environment suitable for technological developments, it built its own factory of 15,000 square meters, 12,500 square meters of which is closed and 2,500 square meters of which is open, on its own land in Kayseri Mimar Sinan Organized Industrial Zone, and moved there.
